Alaska Bear Viewing Flight from Anchorage (AM/PM Tour)
Take
the opportunity to view Alaska's brown bears in their
natural habitat! Enjoy a six-hour guided tour to the
entrance of Lake Clark Wilderness Preserve, home of
Redoubt Bay Lodge and incredible bear viewing. This tour
includes a flight 70 miles southwest of Anchorage to the
entrance of Lake Clark. Flight time in your four to
10-passenger float plane is approximately 50 minutes in
each direction, and is narrated by your pilot with the
headsets provided. An experienced natural history guide
will take you by boat through bear country; look for
bears as they fish for salmon, and don't forget to watch
for other wildlife along the way. You'll receive a
Redoubt Bay Field Guide that provides interesting facts
about bears and a checklist of Flora and Fauna specific
to this region. Relax and enjoy a homemade lunch on the
lake or in the cozy lodge before your return to
Anchorage.
Complimentary transfers are available from most major
Anchorage hotels.
What To Wear
Due to unpredictable Alaskan weather, we advise dressing
in layers, which will allow you to stay warm and dry as
the outdoor environment changes. For this event, please
also bring comfortable walking shoes and a jacket that
can shield you from light wind or rain. Don't forget
your camera and binoculars for the many photo
opportunities along the way.
