Friday: Fly into Fairbanks from Anchorage
on an early morning flight and travel to Chena Hot springs
Resort. The staff at Chena will assist you with planning
your stay at the resort. A Variety of tour options may be
purchased at the resort - dog sled rides, ice skating,
snowmobiling, cross country skiing, flightseeing, sleigh rides
and snow coach tours. Visit the Aurora Ice Museum,
featuring six rooms and an ice bar. Overnight at Chena and
relax in the natural hot springs.
Saturday: Return to Fairbanks to
explore the northern city. Don't miss the University of
Alaska's Museum of the North. Overnight in
Fairbanks.
We offer two options for the rest of the trip.
Option one - available beginning December 2006: Fly
to Mt. McKinley with Talkeetna Aero Services for awe-inspiring views and the
quiet beauty of Denali National Park. Land at Talkeetna for lunch and a
visit to the quaint shops. Board the train to Anchorage at 4:30pm and
enjoy a scenic ride. Keep on the lookout for wildlife and more northern
lights. Overnight in Anchorage.
Option two: Ride
the train from Fairbanks to Anchorage. Dine onboard and
watch for moose, caribou and wolves. Overnight in
Anchorage.
Opt to spend more time in Anchorage. Try cross-country
skiing, snow shoeing
or walking the
trails
throughout the city. Visit the Anchorage Museum of History
and Art to see works by Alaska most treasured artists or see the
Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum to learn about Alaska's aviation
pioneers.
